This is a technical term used for one type of rhinoplasty where the dorsum of the nose (where the hump is located) is completely preserved but placed deeper in the nose, under the skin, in order to create a straight nose.
Having said that, not all patients are candidate for this procedure, and although the term makes it sound less invasive than other types of rhinoplasty, it is not.
At IMAGN Institute, we offer this option to patients with mild dorsal hump in the nose. Recovery is the same as in other types of rhinoplasty.
