Aesthetic and reconstructive otoplasty, ear surgery, is one of the few plastic surgeries common among young children as well as adults. Its goal is to modify the shape, size, position, prominence and symmetry of the ears, as well as to reconstruct deformities caused by injury or disease.
Having aesthetic issues with your years ears can often be a cause for teasing in early childhood and can lead to life-long self-consciousness and shyness in adults.
Our team of board-certified surgeons safely and effectively perform this procedure on both pediatric patients as young as 5 years of age and on adults. We work to restore the balance and harmony of the face by modifying the ears to create a more pleasing facial contour. The Recovery Process

Following an otoplasty you might experience mild discomfort which should wear off in a day or two. You will be prescribed some pain medication to help you be more comfortable. We will also provide you with special bandages which are to be worn for 3-4 days to help the ears heal in the correct position. Once this dressing is off, an elastic headband is to be worn for several weeks at night to make sure there is no trauma to the ears.
Adults would be ready to get back to their routine within 1 week of the procedure. It is advised that children have 2 weeks of recovery period. The results of otoplasty are permanent.
