Platelet Rich Plasma

Overview

Boost the luminosity of your face and increase the smoothness of your skin, through the platelet-rich plasma facial rejuvenation treatment.

When the skin suffers from sun damage, signs of aging, acne scars and debris, it can affect your entire appearance, creating a negative impression that is difficult to reverse.
The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment is based on the natural properties of your own blood platelets to stimulate new collagen formation under and within your skin to give you a more youthful and revitalized look. It involves the application of concentrated platelets, rich in bioactive proteins, which release growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration and accelerate tissue repair. PRP was initially used in wound healing, dentistry and the treatment of sports injuries, but its use has now evolved to address aesthetic concerns.
The platelet-rich plasma treatment is one of the most advanced, effective natural treatments for cellular rejuvenation throughout the body.

Are You a Candidate for a Platelet Rich Plasma?

You are a good candidate for a PRP treatment if:
  • You have an uneven skin tone, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging
  • You are in good overall health as the therapy may not be recommended to people with certain medical conditions or bleeding disorders
  • You are not taking any medication that might cause some complications, such as corticosteroids or anti-inflammatory medication

The PRP procedure

A PRP treatment takes about 1 hour to complete and starts with a simple blood draw. The blood is then processed to separate plasma and platelets. The plasma, at this point highly concentrated with rich platelets, is injected back into your tissues where needed. The growth factors stimulate stem cells to create new, youthful tissue in areas such as the face and scalp, for example. As the PRP procedure uses what your body has produced, there is no risk of reaction or rejection.

The results

PRP facial results can vary depending on your individual skin and aesthetic goals. Typically, it takes about a week or so for the effects to become visible. As the PRP continues growing new collagen and skin cells over the next 2-3 months, you will see continuous improvement that can last for up to 2 years. We recommend getting three PRP facial sessions spaced about one month apart for optimal results.

The Recovery Process

Regular skin peeling treatments will even skin tone, improve the appearance of aging skin, clear acne and revive your youthful fresh glow. Patients who receive a light to medium peel will notice their skin firmer, more even-toned, and with a general healthy appearance. The results of a light chemical peel usually last months, while medium peels accomplish renewal that can last for much longer.
