Rhinoplasty

Overview

Consider a rhinoplasty to improve the appearance of your nose or to relieve structural and functional problems.

We work with men of all ages and backgrounds to create their ideal masculine profile, improving self-confidence and quality of life. We use innovative techniques to contour the nasal bridge, tip and nostrils, while working to minimize swelling and scarring. The results are always natural and subtle, yet remarkable.
The aesthetics of a handsome nose in men are entirely different than details of an attractive nose in women. Male clients tend to desire a nose that is straight and strong, and one that is proportionate to their other features. With this in mind, our team of board-certified plastic surgeons has developed tailored techniques for a male rhinoplasty specifically designed for men.
Like with other plastic surgery procedures, a male rhinoplasty, or nose reshaping surgery, should be performed with the masculine profile in mind. If you are considering a nose reshaping surgery, you want to select a plastic surgeon that has extensive experience in a variety of rhinoplasty techniques to ensure that your results are adapted to your facial proportions, creating a natural appearance. We are experts in all types of rhinoplasty procedures, and we have been working with men to achieve the form and function they are looking for from this central facial feature.

Are You a Candidate for a rhinoplasty?

You should be in good health without underlying medical conditions that could make any surgery risky. A positive self-image and realistic expectations about what rhinoplasty can offer are also important. This surgery can address the following concerns:
  • Disproportionately large or small nose
  • Nasal bridge that has a concave or an obtrusive bump
  • A nasal tip that is narrow, bulbous or drooping
  • Asymmetries in the shape or contour of the nose
  • Nostrils that are wide, upturned or asymmetrical
  • Lack of masculine definition in the nose
  • Structural irregularities that impact your appearance or nasal function

Male Closed Rhinoplasty

Closed rhinoplasty restricts incisions to the interior of the nasal cavities, leaving no visible scarring behind. This technique is mostly used when the required corrections are minimal. Despite the more limited access, closed rhinoplasty does offer excellent visibility, making it easy for your surgeon to see the internal structure throughout the procedure.

Male Open Rhinoplasty

Open rhinoplasty uses the same internal incisions as closed rhinoplasty but adds a small incision in the tissue separating the nostrils on the underside of the nose. This incision is skillfully fashioned in a manner that will make post-operative scarring nearly invisible. The advantage is greater access to the nasal cavities, allowing for more extensive correction when needed.

The Recovery Process

Most of our patients find that recovering from a male rhinoplasty is easier than expected.
As with any other surgery, it is normal that there is bruising and swelling after the male rhinoplasty. You will receive a prescription for pain medication that will make your recovery more comfortable. We will also provide you with instructions to minimize side effects at home with the use of ice packs and elevation of the head.
The length of recovery will depend on the type of technique used. Most patients feel up to returning to regular activities within two weeks, although it may take longer for bruising and swelling to subside completely.
